Explore
Adventure out on foot - Whiteside Mountain Hike.
Home to the tallest sheer cliff face in the Eastern United States, Whiteside Mountain is the centerpiece hike of the Cashiers area and the one everyone talks about after they leave. A two-mile loop traces the rim of the cliff with exposure that stops you cold at every overlook. On a clear day the views stretch across ridge after ridge in every direction, and there is nothing else like it in the region.

Take a swim - Silver Run Falls
Just minutes from the property, Silver Run is a 40-foot cascade that pours directly into one of the best natural swimming holes in the Southern Appalachians. A short, easy trail drops you right to the base where cold mountain water pools wide and clear. It is the kind of place you stumble onto and never want to leave.
Get out on the water - Lake Glenville Scenic Water Cruises
Consistently rated the number one activity in the area on TripAdvisor, Captain Mark's cruise on Lake Glenville is a genuine crowd favorite for good reason. Coolers are welcome on board, the scenery is stunning, and bald eagle sightings are a regular part of the trip. Book ahead, especially on weekends.

Cast a line - The Tuckasegee River
Twenty minutes from the property, the Tuckasegee River is one of the premier fly fishing destinations in the Southeast, with trophy trout water running through some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in the state. Local outfitters offer guided half-day and full-day trips for all skill levels, so you do not need to know what you are doing to have a great time. Even if you never catch anything, you will want to come back.
